We are sharing our favorite colorful festoons, fairy lights, snowflake cutouts, bows and ribbons making a wonderland of beautiful Chicago.
Including our very special tea at the historical Glessner House. Lovingly restored and now serving as a museum, it is a wonderful home from Chicago’s late eighteen hundreds where the city founders dined and partied together.
We enjoyed a Victorian Tea served in the dining room. This menu was quite different than the Afternoon Tea Service we enjoy today.
Anyone for Artisan Sausage and Cheeses with Mattie’s Brown Bread & Homemade Butter – Winter Chestnut Soup – Roast Turkey Sandwiches on Light bread Rolls with Cranberry Relish, Pickles, Stuffed Olives, Celery – Christmas Bread (Stollen), Plum Pudding with Brandy Sauce & Eggnog Ice Cream – Spiced Cider and Mulled Wine?
