IN THE AIR, THERE’S A FEELING OF CHRISTMAS . . . . from “Silver Bells” Wherever you wander this month of December please take in the spirit of the season.Be inspired and appreciate the creativity of others as they have spent hours . . .perhaps days . . .putting up lights, decorating trees and wreaths . . .creating beauty for all to enjoy Perhaps it will give you ideas for how you want to decorate for the holidays!We are sharing our favorite colorful festoons, fairy lights, snowflake cutouts, bows and ribbons making a wonderland of beautiful Chicago. Including our very special tea at the historical Glessner House. Lovingly restored and now serving as a museum, it is a wonderful home from Chicago’s late eighteen hundreds where the city founders dined and partied together.We enjoyed a Victorian Tea served in the dining room. This menu was quite different than the Afternoon Tea Service we enjoy today. Anyone for Artisan Sausage and Cheeses with Mattie’s Brown Bread & Homemade Butter – Winter Chestnut Soup – Roast Turkey Sandwiches on Light bread Rolls with Cranberry Relish, Pickles, Stuffed Olives, Celery – Christmas Bread (Stollen), Plum Pudding with Brandy Sauce & Eggnog Ice Cream – Spiced Cider and Mulled Wine?
